New California State University at San Marcos Center - Campus Announcement

06/26/07 - San Marcos University Corporation and California State University San Marcos are excited to announce that Children's Creative Learning Centers (CCLC) , a leading national early childhood care and education provider, has been selected to operate the Center for Children and Families (CCF) on the Cal State San Marcos campus. CCLC operates 138 employer-sponsored child care centers across the United States, including three in San Diego County.

A grant from the First 5 Commission of San Diego will fund construction of the 21,700 square foot state-of-the-art facility, which is scheduled to open in Fall 2007 after construction is completed.

When CCF opens on campus, the Early Learning Center operated off campus by Associated Students, Inc. will close.

"We're excited about the new, much larger facility opening this fall," said Lura Poggi, Executive Director of Associated Students, Inc. "Student fees for child care have been a critical component of keeping our current facility open. ASI is pleased to have been a major factor in the start of child care services on this campus, and we look forward to working with the University Corporation and Children's Creative Learning Centers on the new facility."

Executive Director of University Corporation Marti Gray states that she is pleased with the service provider selection and looks forward to opening the center this fall.
