The Center will transition to CCLC's management on May 1, 2008. May 5, 2008 will be our official grand opening date. On May 5thfamilies will find brand new equipment in the center and an overall fresh new look and feel.

Our goal is to retain all current center staff. CCLC team members have met with the current staff to discuss employment opportunities. We feel confident that the teaching staff is committed to the center most will remain at the Horizon Center.

What types of schedules will be offered?
The center will continue to offer the same schedules as it currently offers. Any changes to the schedules offered must be approved by Horizon and families would be notified with at least 30 days advance notice. However, at this time, CCLC and Horizon see no reason to change the schedules and they will remain in tact.

Who is CCLC?
To learn more about the center operator, Childrens' Creative Learning Centers (CCLC) please visit our website.

Will the daily child sign-in and out procedures change?
CCLC utilizes a home grown child care software management system, COS. Starting May 5, 2008 families will use the COS system to sign your child in and out of the center each day. The COS system allows the center director to maintain and manage classroom ratios, communicate with families and staff as well as house all student and staff information.

How will CCLC keep families informed of changes?
Communication is a key factor in achieving a successful transition. We will reach out to families in a number of ways. First and foremost, CCLC management will be on-site daily 2 weeks prior to the transition. We know that your primary concern is knowing who will directly care for and work with your child each day. Constancy in staffing is our primary concern as well. As each classroom's teaching staff is finalized, we will update the website by classroom to include the teacher's names and a brief bio for any new teachers. The website calendar of events will also be updated with important dates such as parent events and due dates for any required paper work.

Families can also join our center transition e-mail group. Simply click here and provide us with your name and all e-mail address at which you would like to receive center transition communications. Communications will be sent out regularly.

Curriculum

What is Guided Discovery Curriculum?
CCLC's curriculum facilitates learning in a developmental-based, thematic and multicultural manner for each age group. CCLC views learning as a process that requires a balance between child-initiated and staff-initiated activities. These developed activities incorporate and understand the developmental level of each group while ensuring children are properly prepared for Kindergarten.

Childrens' Creative Learning Centers utilizes its exclusive Guided Discovery Curriculum™ in its centers, incorporating physical, social, language, cognitive and emotional development. Guided Discovery is rooted in educational philosophy and theory as well as practice. It relies heavily on Erik Erikson's stages of socio-emotional development, Jean Piaget's theories of how children think and learn, and on principles of physical development. The curriculum is reflective of the criteria set by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) Accreditation process.

Tuition

What are the tuition rates?
Tuition rates at the center will remain the same. Families will pay tuition weekly in the form of a check. Starting June 2008 families can choose to have their tuition electronically debited from their checking account. More information on this process will be provided via the center after May 1, 2008.
